Forty Years of Green

Long before Three Green had a name, it had a lawnmower. Kelty Lawn Care began in 1984 as a small landscaping operation serving River Forest, Oak Park, and Forest Park — and more than four decades later, it is still out there every morning, keeping the same blocks green.

The service list has grown with the years: lawn care and maintenance, landscape design, and hardscape work — paver patios, walkways, and retaining walls built to survive Midwest winters. What has not changed is the business model: show up, do the work right, answer the phone.

There is a straight line from that first mower to everything else in this magazine. Kelty Lawn Care is where the Three Green philosophy — make the world greener, one yard at a time — stopped being a slogan and started being a schedule.

Issue 04 tells that story in full, with archive photos from the early routes and interviews with customers who have been on the books since the eighties.
